Tropical Party with Tropical Steel Drum

If you couldn’t make it to the tropics this year, this is the next best thing. Tropical Steel, the all steel drum band, will be playing their unique style of music that will remind you of the beautiful, clear cool Caribbean waters.  Compete in the limbo dance to win prizes. Best-dressed tropical outfit and most creative tropical outfit will also win prizes.  No Cover!

MC’s Smokehouse will have pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, and chips available for lunch starting at 1:00 PM.  Prices $8-10


Thirsty Thursday Wine Workout with BOM Fitness at Snus Hill Winery

 A simple and fun workout with a little wine encouragement! Life is all about balance!

**This workout is not designed to be intense nor will heavy consumption be encouraged. Persons performing physical activities should always keep their wits about them. Additional wine will be available for purchase post-event.**


Creative Spirits – Wine and Painting

Creative Spirits is now booked at Snus Hill Winery every third Thursday evening, 6:30-8:30 pm, of every month. A fun event for friends, bachelorette groups, or couples.                                                                                                                                                                                                   It’s  a fun night painting  beautiful “SUNNY SIDE UP” sunflowers at SNUS on August, 18th at 6:30 pm. Enjoy Snus’ great wines and bring some snacks if you choose, while painting!  Our artist will walk you through each step making it fun and easy to create your “masterpiece”. Customize with your color choices. Get some friends to join you for the fun! Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to start time to check in, find a seat and choose your paint colors. HAPPY PAINTING!

Painting Away Sclerocerma

Grab the kids and head out to the winery for face painting!  Volunteers from Des Moines Scleroderma Support Group will create awareness and “Paint Away Scleroderma.”  




Great news for Ames residents!  HIRTA public transit will be provide a shuttle from Ames to Snus Hill Winery for our Friday and Sunday music events June through September!! For $10 they will pick you up from your house or anywhere in Ames, drive you to Snus Hill, and return you back to the same location they picked you up from when the music is over!  If you choose to ride with HIRTA, you will receive $1 dollar off your first wine purchase that evening.  Call HIRTA by 4:00 pm Thursday to book your seat on the 9 Lives Shuttle for the weekend! 1-877-686-0029.

What’s better than a good book and a glass of wine? A winery filled with writers!  Join us for an afternoon of conversation with writers, from all over the Midwest, at Snus Hill Winery. It’s a great chance to start your holiday shopping, with everything from comic books to biographies, you’ll find something to satisfy the reader on your list. And don’t forget the wine! Snus Hill’s award winning blends are the perfect companion to a great book.  Keep an eye on both the Foundation’s website, Facebook page, and event page for information about attending authors.   This event is free of charge, but donations to the Foundation are appreciated.  Your donations allow us to continue to bring you great programing.
