Iowa State Fair Best in Show & Double Gold

A Best of Show award was given to Snus Hill Vineyard and Winery for Spinna in the Edelweiss category at the Iowa State Fair 2016.  Spinna also received a Double Gold award.  To achieve the honor of Double Gold status, the wine must be awarded gold by all judges. The competition uses an awards system based on how the wine should be shared. A Gold award means the wine is one you would be “proud to take to a dinner or party.” A Silver award denotes a wine that you would be “proud to serve to friends in your home, ” while a Bronze award signifies a wine that a person “will enjoy drinking at home.”  Boule de Poils, Whisker White, Edelweiss, Catnip, all took home silver awards. The judges selected winners through a blind taste test of 171 wines entered by 30 Iowa wineries. Over 100 wines were given awards.

Thirsty Thursday Wine Workout with BOM Fitness

A simple and fun workout with a little wine encouragement!  Life is all about balance!  We will do a light full-body workout followed by a yoga cool down.  Pre-registration required: Email bomfitness@gmail.com or call (515)795-2600. Must be 21 to participate. Open to the public. (BOM membership not required.)**This workout is not designed to be intense nor will heavy consumption be encouraged. Persons performing physical activities should always keep their wits about them. Consuming alcohol can impair one’s ability to perform physical activities and should be done with caution. One glass of wine will be provided. Additional wine will be available for purchase post-event.**

Creative Spirits – Wine and Painting

Creative Spirits is now booked at Snus Hill Winery every third Thursday evening, 6:30-8:30 pm, of every month. A fun event for friends, bachelorette groups, or couples.  Enjoy Snus’ great wines and bring some snacks if you choose, while painting!  Our artist will walk you through each step making it fun and easy to create your “masterpiece”. Customize with your color choices. Get some friends to join you for the fun! Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to start time to check in, find a seat and choose your paint colors. Read Between The Vines

What’s better than a good book and a glass of wine? A winery filled with writers!   Join us for an afternoon of conversation with writers, from all over the Midwest, at Snus Hill Winery. It’s a great chance to start your holiday shopping, with everything from comic books to biographies, you’ll find something to satisfy the reader on your list. And don’t forget the wine! Snus Hill’s award winning blends are the perfect companion to a great book.  Keep an eye on both the Foundation’s website, Facebook page, and event page for information about attending authors.   This event is free of charge, but donations to the Foundation are appreciated. Your donations allow us to continue to bring you great programing.

Thriller Dance Lessons
